I have a regular customer who knows that I deal in antiques. I often visit him in his town in the West of Germany, and we go to flea markets there together. Once, I saw a vase that I really liked. I actually already have one like it; it’s a KPM classic, from the Berlin porcelain manufacture. It has its place in the history of porcelain. I bargained the price for the vase, and also for about five other items he wanted. I did quite a good job. He gave me the vase, and in a way I see it as a reward for the bargains that I managed to haggle for all the other items. So now I have a pair, and I find them very cute. The new one that I have from the customer has a very nice gradient of blue down the vase. Because they are handmade and the colour is put on by hand, they sometimes turn out different.
Ich habe einen Stammkunden, der weiß, dass ich mit Antiquitäten handle. Ich besuche ihn oft in einer Stadt in Westdeutschland, wo wir zusammen auf Flohmärkte gehen. Einmal sah ich eine Vase, die ich wirklich mochte, obwohl ich schon so eine habe. Es ist ein KPM-Klassiker, von der Berliner Porzellanmanufaktur. Sie hat ihren Stellenwert in der Porzellangeschichte. Ich hab den Preis für die Vase und fünf weitere Sachen, die er wollte, runtergehandelt und hab ein echt guten Deal hingekriegt. Er gab mir die Vase und ich sehe sie als eine Art Belohnung für den guten Handel für die weiteren Gegenstände. Jetzt habe ich also ein Paar und ich finde sie wirklich süß. Die neue Vase, die ich von meinem Kunden bekommen habe, hat einen schönen blauen Farbverlauf. Weil sie handbemalt sind, sehen sie zum Teil sehr unterschiedlich aus.
Tengo un cliente habitual que sabe que me agradan las antigüedades. A menudo lo visito en su ciudad en el oeste de Alemania, y vamos juntos a los mercadillos. Una vez, vi un jarrón que realmente me gustó. De hecho, ya tengo uno igual; es un clásico de la manufactura de porcelana de la tienda KPM de Berlín. Tiene su lugar en la historia de la porcelana. Regateé el precio del florero, y también de otros cinco artículos que él quería. Hice un buen trabajo.
