I’ve been meeting some transvestite clients, which is really interesting. They are my favourites, I have to say. One of them gave me this long dress. It’s not so much my style, but I’m using it for one of my Burlesque performances. I don’t actually get so many gifts, because I don’t fit into this ‘exoticizing of trans people’ situation, which is kind of a catalogue of functions which you must offer, which I can’t and I don’t want to, because I don’t fit into the stereotype of a trans person. So I’m not working high-class enough to be in the area of receiving regular gifts.
Ich treffe Transvestiten-Kunden, was echt interessant ist. Ich muss ehrlich sagen, die mag ich am liebsten. Einer von ihnen hat mir dieses lange Kleid gegeben. Es ist nicht so mein Stil, aber ich benutze es bei meinen Burlesque-Performances. Ich bekomme eigentlich nicht so viele Geschenke, weil ich nicht so in dieses Schema von exotisierten Trans-Leuten passe. Das ist wie ein Katalog aus Funktionen, die du anbieten musst, die ich aber nicht anbieten kann und auch nicht anbieten will. Ich passe nicht in diesen Stereotyp von einer Trans. Also arbeite ich nicht high-class genug, um Geschenke zu bekommen.
He conocido algunos clientes travestis, lo cual es realmente interesante. Son mis favoritos, debo decir. Uno de ellos me regaló este vestido largo. No es tanto mi estilo, pero lo estoy usando para uno de mis números de burlesque. En realidad no recibo tantos regalos, porque no encajo en esto de la “exotización de personas trans”, que es todo un abanico de funciones que debes ofrecer, pero que yo no puedo y no quiero porque no encajo en el estereotipo de una persona trans. Por lo tanto, no soy de clase lo suficientemente alta como para ser de las que reciben regalos con frecuencia.
