I lost my dog a few years ago and these were given to help me through it. I treasure them more than gold. Silly, I know, but I’m sentimental. My regulars knew I was struggling. They’re nice guys and way better than some I’ve known. I know that we get stigmatised and looked at like dirt by some people just for earning a living, but it’s small kindnesses like this that make it worthwhile.
Vor ein paar Jahren habe ich meinen Hund verloren. Die hier wurden mir gegen den Kummer gegeben. Sie sind für mich wertvoller als Gold. Blödsinnig, ich weiß, aber ich bin nun mal sentimental. Meine Stammkunden wussten, dass es mir schlecht ging. Sie sind gute Typen und viel besser als viele andere, denen ich begegnet bin. Ich weiß, dass wir stigmatisiert werden und dass man auf uns wie auf Dreck herabschaut, nur weil wir unseren Unterhalt verdienen. Aber es sind diese kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten, für die es sich lohnt.
Perdí a mi perro hace unos años y me los dieron para ayudarme a superarlo. Los valoro más que al oro. Tonto, lo sé, pero soy sentimental. Mis clientes habituales sabían que estaba siendo difícil. Son buenos chicos y mucho mejores que algunos que he conocido. Sé que algunas personas nos estigmatizan y nos miran como algo sucio sólo por tratar ganarnos la vida, pero son pequeñas atenciones como ésta las que hacen que valga la pena.
